Simitrievski: "It's a defeat that hurts a lot"

Valencia CF goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski reviewed the loss to Villarreal CF in conversation with VCF Media.

Analysis

It’s tough to have lost this match, because it slipped through our fingers. We had it where we wanted at 1–0, but we needed to fight harder and go after the win more -and it just got away from us. It’s a crushing defeat that really hurts.

Continuing to work

You have to grit your teeth, fight, and go for every ball, get stuck into every challenge, win every duel, and win the game.

We scored a goal that was disallowed for offside, which could have made it 2-0. Then the game slipped away from us; we’re really hurt, but we have to keep fighting, win our duels, and find a way to win these games.

The importance of the game

Every match is important; this is a marathon, not a sprint. We have to keep fighting and stay focused on what lies ahead. We are deeply hurt by this defeat, but we must move on, compete, win duels, fight for every ball, and score goals to secure the win.
